What To Expect at Auditions

We try to make our audition process as painless as possible. We know that nerves can get to you so we always take that into consideration. When you come into your audition, the best possible way to get us to remember you from the other auditionees is to simply BE YOURSELF! We can't express this enough!
Your musical background, style, or voice part don't mean a thing. You'll only get a short amount of time (5-7min) to show us what you've got, so relax and show us who you are!

Here is a general idea of what we'll have you do so you can prepare:

Vocal Range
We'll start by having you sing an ascending and descending scale, a capella, to test your vocal range. You'll be able to sing this on any syllable you like.

Tonal Memory
Next we'll want to test your tonal memory. We'll play a series of notes, and have you sing them back to us. We will play this for you up to three times, and then we'll have you sing it on your own, a capella.

Sight-Reading
Next up is for us to test how well you can read music. We'll give you a sheet of music, about 4 meausres and (after giving you the starting note) see how well you can sing it for us. If you don't know how to read music, or can't very well don't be scared! If you learn better by ear, you will get better the more you're with us.

Solo
This is the part of the audition that YOU control! Choose any song you like, any style, and sing us a verse and chorus. Choose a song that fits your voice, and shows off your range AND personality! This is your chance to show us everything you've got!!
